Singapore
(Southern Tip of the Malay Peninsula)

It took a moment to get used to the new vibe present on Singapore signs.

That's right. You can wear your sunglasses at night, but not in a bank.

Check out that flower arrangement. Sarah and I went to a childrens' Suzuki concert at a young musician's center on the way to the art museum. We stayed for three hours.

She made the cutest faces! I didn't think to get a picutre of Felix Holland when he was playing. Cute, cute, cute!

Matt Priest, I'll meat you there.

There was an area in the Singapore zoo where you could walk around and play with the animals. These lemurs were really a foot or so away from Sarah. It was dark so it was hard to get a picture of the bat, I mean, flying fox swooping within inches of our heads, but these guys turned out okay.

Can you see the storm clouds in the background? We spent an hour or so under a little shelter in the National Orchid Garden of Singapore. LOTS of rain. Reminded me of sitting in the garage watching thunderstorms with dad.

There are more orchid varieties than you can shake a stick at. Here are some nice yellow ones.

Can you read this? Singapore Art Museum's curators are very sure about the artist's intentions and exactly what psychological phenomena are occuring in your brain the instant you look at a piece. It's this kind of thing that convinces one that it is not the cellphones that walk and talk and cook sushi and park you car that make Singapore years ahead of America, it is their sophisticated understanding of art in the human mind.

Then you return to Malaysia. I love "Rut Bir"!
